I am a Rose Croix member, and there is a difference between Scottish Rite, which is American, and the Ancient and Accepted Rite of Freemasonry for England and Wales and its Districs and Chapters Overseas etc.....

I belong to a Chapter of the latter. Surely New Zealand Rose Croix also fall into the latter category?

Thanks for the correction Paul, you must be right. I've dug around a bit more since I posted and found I wasn't quite correct. You learn something every day!

oh oh, i am a member of both a rosicrucian ad masonic lodge, have even mentioned it to the brethern and no one has said nought to me.

in fact i would go as far as to say that the rituals performed in the R+C lodge, have more of a enlightening effect than the ritual of freemasonry.

and im not the only f/M associated with the R+C lodge either...theres quite a few others there to...

Although similar to F/M, the R+C lodge and its setup run quite differently i assure you, hell the Hermetic Philosophy intertwined in both lodges has the same message. Be a good bugger and help those around you, then the world will start to be a better, isnt that the whole point no?

The position of the Board of General Purposes to the Rosicrucian movement is unchanged from that previously mentioned.

The first three Degrees of Rose Croix are taken as the three degrees in Craft Freemasonry. The ritual however is very different although following the same story.

A much bigger difference than say Taylors and Emulation which are standard rituals that are different.

I have been a member of the Scottish Rite for about seven years. It is alive and well in NZ, but apparently not as many chapters as the NZ version. Both have beautiful workings which are interesting in comparison: They go about things quite differently but emerge at a common conclusion. The Scottish working is more colurful. I highly recommend it as a side order.

you are right, but I spoke to a PMWS the other night who had no idea the the A&AR and the RC were one and the same. As stated elsewhere I joined the RC expecting that it would open a whole new area of learning for me. I was bitterly disappointed. The members knew nothing of the degrees which are conferred in name only and the only interest was to learn and conduct ritual.

Three years and before going in to the chair I threw it away. I have seen nothing in my new area that would influence me to rescind that decision.

I understand that the NZ Rose Croix is based on the A&A York Rite. Can anyone confirm that?
In Nelson we have both A&A Scottish R, and NZ Rose. We both have fraternal visits, and from my very short membership of NZ Rose, the A&ASR seems to be very similar indeed.
Jeff, in Nelson we have members who undertake the intermediate degrees as demonstrations, which hugely improves our understanding and also makes for an interesting meeting.
