Hello Brothers. I am just informing all brethren that I am attempting to form a group to preserve the Historic English Electric Trains in Wellington as an operational heritage fleet. The core of the idea is to save at least 1 train for each of the various Liverys these trains have appeared in from 1938-2012. There have been at least 6 different liverys according to my information so that means saving 6 different trains. These would then be restored 1 for each of the 6 different eras these trains have seen service in. The fleet would be available for mainline charters and also school holiday heritage services. If any brothers are interested in this project do let me know, my email direct is KB968@Hotmail.co.nz you can find us also on facebook as "English Electric Preservation Group".

Gidday John,

Good luck in your quest. If you do manage to save them and want to have an early heads up on what would be required to operate them in NZ then I am in a position to advise you on this. I can be contacted at work on 04 894 5015.
