Bro's,

I am the New Zealand representative for the 'Global Fraternal Network' (http://www.masonic-network.com), which prides itself on being the first virtual Lodge.

Part of my duties is to help overseas brethren make masonic visits on their trip to this country and to assist my own countrymen make masonic visits overseas.

If you are heading abroad and think you'd like to visist a lodge, please just let me know.

Regards,

As a freemason for the past 23 years in Christchurch, England, I am fortunate enough to be visiting New Zealand next month. I would really appreciate the opportunity to visit a lodge whilst there – I arrive in Christchurch on the 10th September, staying at Chateau on the Park and expect to be in New Zealand for approximately 10 days.

If you feel that you can assist me, please reply as soon as possible with details of dates, dress code or any other useful information.

HiBrian,
Howon earth did Imiss this when youposted it. You must be back in UK by now.
I assume that you were staying at the Grand Chateau on Mount Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park.
I am in Taupo, approximately an hour away and would have been more than happy to meet you, you might have been able to attend our installation!
Unfortunately,it all came to naught. Anyway, I do hope you had an enjoyable time in NZ before you went back to UK again. When will you be coming back again?

While in the UK visiting family and friends, and following the All Blacks, I made contact with a Lodge located in Maidstone, Kent.

The Lodge season was just beginning and i was fortunate to attend the installation of Bearsted Lodge no. 6069

On entering the building, I was asked a serious of qualifying questions and then introduced to a number of the Brethren. We were admitted to the Lodge room and the nights events then proceeded. The number of differances in the ceremony was of particular interest.

Bearsted Lodge is located in the Maidstone Masonic Centre. This is a modern centre with a number of rooms including practice rooms and a dedicated dining area. A main Drinks Bar was also a feature which was well used by attendees :D

I was made extremely welcomed and looked after by the Lodge including transport back to my accomodation. A number of Bearsted members expect to visit NZ in the future, which i will most happliy return their hospitality.

While very nervous about initially contacting the Lodge, my visit was a highlight of the trip. To make a connection with members and share the camaraderie of the evening was a true joy.

Should you be away on holiday, I highly recommend visiting a Lodge.
