Our purpose is to recognise each resident’s individuality and to provide a safe, caring, homelike environment, where all health, social and cultural needs are met by friendly professional staff.
The Manawatu Masonic Association Trust was incorporated in March 1996 under the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 as a result of the transfer of assets from the Ruapehu Masonic Association Trust. The Trust operates retirement villages at Palmerston North and Foxton.
Palmerston North
Masonic Court Rest Home and Hospital comprises 37 Stage 2 rest home beds, 12 hospital beds, 14 licence to occupy (LTO) units, and five rental villas. Masonic Court has a high reputation in the region as a provider of care for the elderly and for providing a warm, caring environment for its residents. A key element in achieving this is the staff, and Masonic Court is extremely fortunate in having a great team of dedicated staff who “go the extra mile” to ensure residents get the best possible care. The team is led by Barbara Mouat, Masonic Court Manager, assisted by Tania Chamberlain, Palmerston North Administrator.
Masonic Court provides a varied recreational programme, and is a very popular choice amongst those seeking care, either for themselves or a loved one.
Foxton
In 1989 it was found that there was a significant requirement for accommodation such as pensioner flats and LTO units for the elderly in Foxton. A committee was formed to oversee the development of such a property and, with the Trust, developed Te Awahou Masonic Court. The complex is situated within walking distance of Foxton’s town centre, and now comprises 15 LTO units and 36 rental units. A Community Centre on the property is a great asset for the complex and the wider community.
