The Marvels of the Human Brain
A true compliment to the man.
His subject, assisted by a power point presentation, was so clearly given that the points made were understood by all, even the younger members of the assembly, of whom there were several. It was most interesting to see that the younger one's interest did not flag, but was held for the whole 90 minutes, and the question time which followed.
The professor explained his reasons for undertaking this line of research, and the many frustrations he had gone through to pursue his goal.
The fact that he has accomplished so much, and the obvious enthusiasm of his support team, is a mark of the man.
His work and enthusiasm has already been acknowledged by the honour of being the Rutherford Medalist, and its appointed Travelling Lecturer this year, but his ability has not stopped there, and his enthusiasm will take him (and incidentally, us and our families) along with him in his future studies and experiments.
The word "experiments" is justly attributed to him as he was told many times on his journey that he was most unlikely to be successful in finding the information he was seeking and the points had undertaken to prove.
Such is the nature of the man, that discouragement was not allowed to come between him and his goal of helping the less fortunate of our society.
Let me conclude by recommending attendance at any Lecture he may give in YOUR area. Should you make the effort and listen to him, your evening will be one of profit and pleasure.
